The Students Union Government of the Lagos State
University, Ojo has thrown their unprecedented support to Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode
as the next governor of Lagos State.More information after the cut.
At a rally of the All Progressives Congress in
Ojo, the Union President, Mr. Nurudeen Yusuf, asserted that the students had
weighed Ambode and the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party,
Jimi Agbaje before they decided to drum up support to the APC candidate.
Nurudeen leading the students who were in their
thousands to buttress Ambode added that the students’ decision was based on
Ambobe’s experience, competence, and integrity.
“Ambode’s 27 years of experience in the Lagos
State civil service will give him the edge to keep the developmental stride
going if eventually voted in as the governor. We believe he will continue the
massive infrastructural development that will make our university a world-class
institution,” he said.
The students’ leader also eulogised the academic
achievement of Ambode as exemplary, adding that the students would look forward
to his mentorship as a scholar and the state governor.
Nurudeen also expressed the belief that Ambode’s
programme for the educational development of the state would offer the students
a better deal.
“Ambode is not only better but he is the man of
the moment who is ready for the job of taking Lagos to the next level,” he
said.
Responding, Ambode assured the students that he
would not disappoint them as the Lagos State governor, adding that he would spare
no efforts at ensuring that the state university “becomes one of the best
institutions in the world.”
